Monetization Options Supported by Fluger

Fluger gives you multiple ways to make money from your TV channel, depending on how you want to charge your audience and where your channel is distributed. You are not locked into a single model — you can combine methods or switch as your channel grows.

1. Subscription-Based Channels (SVOD)

You can charge viewers a recurring weekly/monthly or annual fee to access your channel.

How it works

  • Viewers subscribe to your channel using a monthly plan

  • Only paying subscribers can watch the stream

  • Payments are handled via onsite credits which you can then withdraw to you Bank or Paypal account

  • Access will not granted if payment fails or subscription is canceled

Best for

  • Premium or niche content

  • Educational, cultural, or exclusive programming

  • Channels with loyal audiences

Key notes

  • Predictable recurring revenue

  • Requires consistent content value

  • Works well on web

2. Advertising-Based Monetization (AVOD / FAST)

You can monetize your channel using video ads, without charging viewers directly.

How it works

  • Your channel remains free to watch

  • Ads are inserted into the stream at defined ad breaks

  • Revenue is generated based on ad impressions

Supported ad approaches

  • Server-side ad insertion (SSAI)

Best for

  • Free, wide-reach channels

  • FAST-style channels

  • Content with high viewing hours

Reality check
Ads only make sense at scale.
If your channel has low viewership, ads alone won’t pay the bills.

3. Paywalled Channels (Password or Access-Restricted)

You can restrict access to a channel and monetize it outside of Fluger.

How it works

  • Channel is protected by password or access control

  • You sell access separately (membership, event ticket, internal portal)

  • Only authorized viewers can watch

Best for

  • Corporate, internal, or private channels

  • One-off events or conferences

  • Communities that already handle payments elsewhere

Important
Fluger does not process payments in this model — you control access manually or via your own system.

4. Hybrid Monetization (Subscription + Ads)

You can combine subscriptions and ads strategically.

Examples

  • Free tier with ads, paid tier without ads

  • Ads shown only to non-subscribers

  • Premium subscribers get exclusive ad-free streams

Best for

  • Gradual audience monetization

  • Converting free viewers into paying subscribers

  • Maximizing lifetime value per viewer

5. Platform-Level Monetization (TV Apps)

When distributing channels via Roku or Fire TV apps, additional monetization options apply:

  • In-app subscriptions

  • Platform-specific ad monetization

  • Channel bundles or premium access tiers

These depend on the platform’s rules and approval process, not just Fluger.

What Fluger Does Not Support (Yet)

To avoid confusion, here’s what is not currently available:

  • Crypto or NFT-based monetization

  • Automated revenue splits between multiple creators

Choosing the Right Monetization Model

If you’re just starting:

  • Use subscriptions or private access

  • Ads won’t generate meaningful revenue early

If you already have viewers:

  • Add ads to scale revenue

  • Experiment with hybrid models

If you sell exclusivity:

  • Subscriptions or restricted access are the right choice

Summary

Fluger supports monetization through:

  • Subscriptions

  • Advertising

  • Access-restricted channels

  • Hybrid models

  • TV app monetization

You control how viewers pay, who gets access, and how your content earns money — without rebuilding your channel every time you change strategy.
