How Video Upload Works on Fluger

Fluger allows you to upload your own video files and use them across multiple channels and schedules. This article explains what formats are supported, how uploads are processed, where videos appear, and what happens when you delete them.

Supported Upload Format

Fluger supports MP4 files only for uploads.

  • Other formats are not accepted

  • You do not upload .m3u8 files directly

This restriction is intentional and avoids playback and compatibility issues across devices.

MP4 to HLS (M3U8) Conversion

During upload, you can choose whether your MP4 file should be converted into adaptive HLS (M3U8).

How it works

  • You upload an MP4 file

  • If conversion is enabled, Fluger automatically generates HLS segments and a .m3u8 playlist

  • If conversion is disabled, the original MP4 is stored as-is

You don’t need to prepare HLS files in advance — conversion happens automatically.

Upload Limits and Storage Quotas

Per-file upload limit

  • Maximum file size: 4 GB per video

Uploads larger than this will be rejected.

Storage limits by plan

Your total available storage depends on the subscription plan you have purchased.

  • Each uploaded video counts toward your storage quota

  • Once your storage limit is reached, new uploads are blocked

  • You must either delete videos or upgrade your plan to continue uploading

This prevents unexpected overuse and keeps costs predictable.

Where Uploaded Videos Go

Every uploaded video is automatically added to My Library.

My Library is the central place where:

  • All your uploaded videos live

  • Storage usage is tracked

  • Videos can be reused across channels

You upload once and use the video everywhere.

Adding Videos to Channels

From My Library, you can:

  • Select a video

  • Add it to one or multiple channels

  • Schedule it immediately or later

The same video can appear in:

  • Multiple channels

  • Multiple schedules

  • Different time slots

No duplicate uploads are required.

Storage Usage Tracking

On the My Library page, you can:

  • See how much storage you are currently using

  • See remaining available storage

  • Identify large videos that consume the most space

This helps you manage your quota without guessing.

Deleting Videos: Important Behavior

Deleting a video from My Library is permanent.

When you delete a video:

  • It is removed from your storage

  • It is removed from all channels

  • It is removed from all schedules

  • Any future scheduled playback is canceled

This action cannot be undone.

If you want to remove a video from a single channel only, remove it from that channel’s schedule — do not delete it from the library.

Summary

  • Only MP4 files can be uploaded

  • Optional MP4 → M3U8 (HLS) conversion during upload

  • 4 GB maximum per video

  • Total storage depends on your plan

  • All videos go to My Library

  • Videos can be reused across multiple channels

  • Deleting a video removes it everywhere

  • Storage usage is visible in My Library

Fluger treats uploaded videos as shared assets. Manage them carefully, and your channels stay clean and predictable.
